Carol Ann, "Sister" or "Ms. Carol" as she was often called, completed her 75 year journey on this earth and went to live with her Lord on Thursday morning, August 7, 2014.

Carol Ann Miller was born in Rosenberg, TX, on June 19, 1939 to Lillian Rosenbaum Miller and Melvin Gus Miller. She attended elementary school through the 8th grade and in May 1968, began attending Richmond State School. In 1985, she moved to the 1st of various Texana group home sites, the latest of which was in Wharton, TX where she was loved and cared for by the Texana Center staff for almost 30 years.

Through the years Carol Ann participated in many Special Olympics, notably as a member of the swim team. She volunteered for numerous years at the library where she enjoyed spending time reading to the children. She also had a gift for music, always playing the piano for housemates and whoever wanted to listen. Carol Ann enjoyed spending time with her extended family, always looking forward to the holidays and the annual Miller family reunions. Some of her favorite activities included going to the beauty shop to get her hair done and going shopping. Ms. Carol loved to shop and especially loved jewelry. She would never leave the house without the right "accessory" to complement her outfit! Carol Ann had a beautiful and sweet spirit that will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Everitt Melvin Miller; and her sister Lillian Frances Miller Robken.

She is survived by her brother-in-law; six nieces and nephews; thirteen great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family extends a very special thanks to the staff at Texana Center group home in Wharton, TX and to all the Texana staff that have loved and cared for Carol Ann over the years. They are as much her family as any blood relatives and we cannot express our gratitude enough for their loving care of Carol Ann over the past 29 years.

A time of Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Graveside Services and interment will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 11, 2014 at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, TX.
