Carleene Ayers Gay, 90, of Houston, TX, passed away November 22, 2016, in Houston, TX. She was born July 5, 1926, in Van Alstyne, TX, to Douglas Moore Ayers and Lola Sloan Ayers. Carleene retired from Texas Instruments in Sherman, TX. While in Sherman, she was a very active volunteer with The Girls Club. In recent years, she resided at Clarewood House, Houston, TX. Carleene was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Faith and family were most important to her. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.


Mrs. Gay was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother. Survivors include her two daughters, Janet Reeves and husband, Mac Thompson, and Linda Hughes and husband, Greg; 2 grand daughters; and 8 great grandchildren.


No service will be held, but in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Clarewood House, 7400 Clarewood Dr/Houston, TX 77036, or to a charity of choice.
