Obituary

Funeral services for Burienne Fitzpatrick Stuart, 87, of Richmond, TX, are set for 11 AM Monday, September 28, 2020, at First United Methodist Church, 1127 Third Street, Rosenberg, TX  77471 , with Rev. Jeremy Wester officiating.
Visitation will be 4 - 6:00 PM Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471 .
Burienne passed away September 24, 2020. He was born August 5, 1933.
First and foremost, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who devoted his life to his family. He will be deeply missed.
He worked at Quanex Gulf States Tube Corporation for 36 years, until he retired in 1994.
Burienne was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg, TX, for over 60 years and served on many committees there. He was a member of Faith Sunday School class, which he dearly loved.
He was a 46 year member and Past Worshipful Master of Rosenberg Masonic Lodge #881, member of the Morton Masonic Lodge #72 of Richmond, the Arabia Shrine Temple, the Richmond Chapter #383 and Council #384, the Fort Bend Commandery #74, past President of Fort Bend Shrine Club, Past President of the Arabia Shrine Campers, and Past Worthy Patron of the Rosenberg Chapter #429, Order of the Eastern Star.
Burienne was awarded the highest honor of Masonry, the Golden Trowel Award, for exceptional service. He is one of very few men who received this award on 2 separate occasions - once from the Rosenberg Masonic Lodge in 1999 and then again from the Morton Masonic Lodge in 2016. He was also a great teacher of Masonry, teaching many students over the years.
After his retirement, Burienne and Margaret enjoyed traveling by RV with great friends for many years. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school activities and spent many weekends at Lake Livingston with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Hausler Stuart; daughter, Carolyn and Brian Cooper, of Spring, TX; daughter, Sharon Garrett, of Cypress, TX; and son, Michael and Andrea Stuart, of Franklin, TN, as well as grandchildren, Cameron and Cody Cooper, Emily and Jonah Garrett, Jared, Brennan, Wesley and Caroline Stuart; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burienne and Reba Stuart, and by his sisters, Lockie Earnest and Pearl Wilson.
Memorial donations may be given in his memory to First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg, 1106 4th Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, Rosenberg Masonic Lodge #881 Scholarship Fund, 25507 SW Freeway, Rosenberg, TX 77471 , or to Rosenberg Chapter #429, Order of the Eastern Star/Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 525, Rosenberg, TX 77471 .
The family would like to extend their appreciation to family, friends, and the doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital for the support and care provided during this time.
