Funeral Services for Bennie Carl Holder of Needville, TX, will be 10 AM Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Needville Public Cemetery, Needville, TX.


Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Monday, October 26, 2015, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, Needville, TX 77461.


Bennie passed away peacefully on October 21, 2015, at the age of 83. He was born November 20, 1931, in Ennis, TX, to Wilson Benjamin and Mable Winfrey Holder. Bennie served as Private First Class in the US Army in Korea from November 26, 1948, to May 29, 1952. He met and married Gertrude Krobot Wilson on February 22, 1963. He became the Dad of Dennis Wilson. Mr. Holder was a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), a member of American Legion Post #350/Needville, TX, and before his illness, a member of the Needville Lions Club.


He is preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Gertrude Holder. Survivors include his son, Dennis Wilson and wife, Helen, of Needville, TX; grandchildren, Brandi Wilson of Needville, TX, and Jim Wilson of Spring, TX; great grandchildren, Bryan and Hailey Mueck.


Pallbearers will be Grant Leus, Virgil Leus, Leon Krobot Jr., Leonard Altimore, Jim Wilson and Brandi Wilson. Honorary pallbearer will be Leon Krobot.

Memorials may be given in his memory to Disabled American Veterans (Tri-County) Rosenberg.
