Alwood (Big Al) Albert Leonhardt of Rosenberg, TX, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. He was born in Burton, TX on September 23, 1939. He grew up on a farm in Round Top, Texas. He graduated from Round Top/Carmine High School in 1958. He was baptized on February 18, 1940 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was Confirmed on April 11, 1954.

He met the love of his life Henrietta Noak and was married on October 8, 1960. They started their life together in Round Top living and working on a Dairy. Later they had 3 children and made a happy home in Rosenberg. Al worked for WKM in Missouri City, TX for many years as a welder and then at Cooper Industries as a machinist. He retired from Gurecky Manufacturing in 2008. After retiring he dedicated his time to Al's Woodshop. He made many swings, furniture, cedar chests and lot of items for many friends and family. He worshipped at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rosenberg for many years.

Al's family was the utmost importance to him. Al is survived by his wife of 64 years of marriage, Henrietta Leonhardt. He is also survived by his daughter, Teresa Zuehlke (Lloyd Zuehlke), son Randall Leonhardt; daughter-in-law Debbie Jones; sister Donna Kunkel (Al Duane); and brother-in-law Robert Leonhardt; grandchildren, Tamara Twidell (Michael), April Zwahr (Josh), Tara Brawley (Matt), Lenzie Leonhardt (Ryan) and Kaylee Leonhardt. Great Grandchildren, Zoey, Tucker & Owen Twidell, Piersyn Zwahr, Mason Brawley, Gaige Wrichard & Gavin Howard.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Leonhardt, his parents Bennie & Lucille Leonhardt and sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and OB Schoenemann.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Twidell, Josh Zwahr, Matt Brawley, Ryan Howard, Mike Jurez and Tommy Minks. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Leonhardt and Alfonse Kresta.

Services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 1208 Fifth Street, Rosenberg, Texas on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Visitation is from 9:00 am-10:00 am. The Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 am. A Graveside Service will be held at Richter Cemetery in Round Top, Texas, at 2:30 pm on Thursday.
