A Graveside Service for Alice Oberrender, 103, of Needville, TX, is set for 1:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Needville Public Cemetery.
She was born Alice Platte on July 5, 1912, in Welcome, TX, to Ben C. Platte and Melinda Thielemann Platte. She died June 7, 2016, in Needville, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Arnold Oberrender; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Frieda Oberrender; her sons-in-law, Lee Altimore and Kenneth Schulze; and three sisters. Survivors include four daughters, Helen Altimore and Vivian Schulze, both of Needville, TX, Mabel Williams and husband, Melvin, of Palestine, TX, and Cynthia Rychlik and husband, Adam, of Richmond, TX; and sister, Lee Lindemann of Richmond, TX. She was lovingly known as "Grandma OB" to 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in her memory to Houston Hospice El Campo, 1102 N. Mechanic Street, El Campo, TX 77437 and Immanuel Evangelical Church, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461.
