Alexander Christian
Iversen
Feb 26, 1994 — Oct 4, 2021
Havelock
Alexander "Alex" Christian Iversen, 27, of Rosenberg, Texas. On October 4, 2021, Alex passed away while serving on active duty as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was born February 26, 1994, at St. David's hospital in Austin, Texas to Irene (Lumbreras) and Christian G. Iversen. Beloved, son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He is survived by his parents, grandmother-Rogelia Lumbreras, sisters- Stephanie and Brian Gamble, Elizabeth (and Matt) Iversen, and brother- Jonathan and Brooke Iversen. Alex is also survived by his nieces and nephews- Madeleine Iversen, Charlotte Gamble, Colt Iversen, and Wyatt Iversen, as well as his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was greeted in heaven by his grandparents- Hilario Lumbreras Sr., Madeleine Larsen and Finn Iversen, great-grandfather- Bardomiano Lumbreras Sr., and great-grandmother, Rafaela Ruiz.
Alex grew up in Sugar Land, Texas and graduated from William B. Travis High School in 2012. Alex was an active member of Calvary Episcopal Church. In his youth, he proudly served as an acolyte to the church. He went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps in March 2013. While serving on active-duty, Alex came to be known within his unit as an individual who was always looking out for the wellbeing of his Marines and in doing so, he formed a new kind of family that served as his family away from home.
Although he was dyslexic, Alex enjoyed reading fantasy book series, such as The Lord of the Rings and A Game of Thrones, and comic books, especially Batman. Always seen with a pair of headphones, Alex found comfort listening to a wide variety of music. He enjoyed watching football with friends and being outdoors. His great sense of humor and laughter were universal; however, his jokes were unique.
Alex was thoughtful and had a huge heart, always taking care of everyone around him and placing their needs before his own. He was protective of his nieces and nephews. Every year Alex loved and looked forward to holidays and vacations with family, especially with his Tios, Tias, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. But above all else, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ and his family.
His warm smile, bear hugs, conversations, and laughter will be missed, but we will always carry him in our hearts.
