Funeral Services for Delores Nordt Fishbeck, 86, of Damon, TX, are set for 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22, 2011, at First English Lutheran Church, Damon, TX, with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX.
Serving as Pallbearers are Eugene Nordt, Bob Jackson, John Banker, Edward Schimkowitsch, Glen Nordt, and Richard Nordt. Honorary Pallbearers are son-in-law, Jim Valentine; grandsons, Jamie Valentine, Jason Valentine, and Josh Valentine; great-grandsons, James Valentine and Will Valentine.
Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2011, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461.
Delores Meta Lillan Nordt was born August 20, 1925, in Brenham, TX, to Louis Charles Nordt and Norma Lehmann Nordt. She died October 19, 2011, in Needville, TX. She was married to Ludwig P. Fishbeck, who preceded her in death. Delores was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Damon, TX. She enjoyed embroidering and gardening, when she was able. Quilting brought her much joy, and she shared her quilts with family and others. For many years she has made and donated at least nine quilts to the Lutheran Home for the Aged in Clifton, TX. She loved spending time with her family, and most important in life to her was her faith and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Vernita Schimkowitsch and husband, Warren; and brothers, Erwin Nordt, and Ray Nordt and wife, Lona Mae.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Valentine and husband, Jim, of Damon, TX; grandchildren, Jamie Valentine and wife, Rebecca, of Damon, TX, Jason Valentine and wife, Carrie, of Wimberley, TX, Janessa Valentine of Needville, TX, Joshua Valentine, of Bryan, TX; great grandchildren, James Valentine, Anna Valentine, and William Valentine, all of Damon, TX, and Claire Valentine and Josie Valentine, both of Wimberley, TX; brothers, Lonnie Nordt and wife, Helen, of Damon, TX, L.C. Nordt, Jr. and wife, Dorothy Jean, of Katy, TX; sister-in-law, Clara Nordt of Sugar Land, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Fishbeck family would like to thank Reliable Oaks and Elizabeth Williams for their loving care, as well as family and friends for their love, support and prayers for Mom and Grandma.
